The following is the next step in thinking about the course I teach. The rough process and background is available in the first post. The first post and the most recent in this series considered student feedback. This post moves onto to thinking about the course itself, what it covers, and whether that's any good....more...

After spending a few days visiting friends and family in Central Queensland - not to mention enjoying the beach - a long 7+ hour drive home provided an opportunity for some thinking. The following is the first of a few posts that will serve the basis for discussions with other members of the teaching staff, an artefact to show the 2014 students some evidence of thought and rationale for the course they're taking, and perhaps to spark some ideas from you, the reader....more...
A friday afternoon rant/story illustrating what I see as a fatal flaw in institutional University L&T systems (at least those I'm experienced within in Australia). This flaw helps explain why the quality of L&T - especially e-learning - leaves something to be desired....more...
The following describes an attempt to develop a visualisation of the frequency with which students in the course I teach posted to their blogs during two offerings of the course in 2013. A few reasons for doing this...more...
I am planning to do some more work on BIM in preparation for using it in teaching this year, including finishing some analysis of how the blogging went in last year's two offerings....more...
The following is a summary of McNaught et al (2009). This is one of three papers that from the same institution around the LMS that I've looked at recently....more...
